Year 1, 2 & 3. Parents vs Kids Grand final.

Despite prior advice, the parents didn’t listen to instructions and many wore inappropriate footwear. The Paly bag of hand-me-down old boots wouldn’t fit any of the dads, and only a few of the mums. Parental stretch class sprung a few old strains, but most limped onto the Paly turf; some after a few City to Surf km’s. A scrappy affair unfolded, with the ball being crowded for much of the game. A second ball was introduced, and Coach Rob and Coach Tim struggled to keep up. A few highlights – Geno vs son Jy & Dave Ivancich’s rain-makers! Virginia in Full Forward plugged a few, yet some parents were pressured into kicking in the wrong direction!

Accidentally a ball bounced onto the oval and a third front opened up; followed by a hive of kids and parents. Many parents clearly missed the hand passing skills sessions, and quite a few throws escaped the whistle. In summary, the kids maintained a fresh dynamic, whilst the parents “let me show you how it’s done” faded in the final quarter. A close game, but in the end did anyone keep score?
